Professor Yuka Saiki was born into a sake brewing family, and fell in love with the traditions of wearing Japanese clothes at New Year’s celebration and other annual events, igniting her love and passion for Japanese culture. With a determination to turn this passion into her dream job, she began to study clothing, food and housing in Japanese culture at university and quickly became well known for her knowledge and experience with Japanese clothing and culture, becoming a popular choice for TV dramas and commercials alike.
Alongside her multiple TV appearances, Professor Saiki has dedicated her time to guiding and providing supervision to actors of commercials, dramas and movies, etc. beginning her work as Nihon Kindai Reiho. She has made it her lifework to deepen her understanding of the underlying ideas of Japanese culture, aming to pass on these behaviours and manners suitable for the modern world to the next generation.
