Makki was born and raised in Kawasaki, but has lived in New York for dancing and participated in a short-term homestay in Florida. After that, she worked as a tour conductor throughout Japan and as a Marketing Publicist for Warner Brothers for 21 years. Her experience in America has instilled in her a passion for American culture in addition to her first love of her home country of Japan. So, after early retirement, she wants to help guests from all over the world fall in love with a second culture as she did by sharing and teaching about Japan’s unique culture and delicious foods!
