Get to know the local stories of the charming and beautiful area of Yoshiwara in Fuji City at the base of Mt. Fuji.  On this culinary adventure, we will visit traditional family-owned businesses that have been around for more than 100 years. As a wonderful contrast, we will also learn the amazing stories of revitalization by the locals of Yoshiwara. Now, young entrepreneurs are creating new opportunities in this historical “Post Town” on the Tokaido Road, dating back to the Samurai era. These young creatives are reviving the traditions of the town to continue the strong sense of community in this special neighborhood.

Our expert guide will help you connect with passionate members of the community who are dedicated to sharing their love for their city. Experience local hospitality through the beautiful people of the Yoshiwara neighborhood. We will share stories of how this community stays strong through support and celebrations including a famous festival held here every summer for hundreds of years!

Visit 5 food stops where you can try delicious local traditional and modern foods special to Fuji City and Yoshiwara. You can enjoy a modern-mash-up “surprise” lunch, try a special sweet bite as well as local savory specialties. Blend your own signature tea to enjoy with a local snack and much more!

IMPORTANT NOTICE: We have a strict policy about starting our tours on time. If you are not able to arrive at the meeting point by the departure time, the tour will start regardless and no refund will be provided.
We are also unable to accommodate your meeting up at any of the food stops once you’ve missed the start of the tour. This is to protect the enjoyment of all our guests and the relationships with our restaurant partners. Please note we can only wait an additional five minutes after the starting time and then the tour will depart.

PLEASE NOTE:  In addition to our limited no-exception five-minute grace period: we cannot give directions or contact the guides on the phone once the tour begins. This is to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all guests on the tour. Our Guides will focus on the tour and cannot be responsible to help you connect after the tour begins.

There are a few different ways you can come to the meeting place. And this city is easy to reach on a day trip or overnight stay from Tokyo.

Our guide will be at the meeting place 15 minutes before the start time holding an “Arigato Travel” sign.

We suggest wearing comfortable shoes as there will be walking involved.
