Personal Travel Consulting

Your amazing journey is just a phone call away.

Japan is wonderful, but planning your time here can be a real challenge, even for experienced travellers. Systems are quite different here and langauge barriers continue to be a problem. For example, with 160,000 + restaurants in Tokyo alone, it can be hard to choose and then reservations are quite difficult to make unless you speak Japanese. Tourism is booming and there are dynamic experiences to try and hidden gems around every corner but these are hard to find unless you are a local. All of these unknowns can add up to high stress levels while you are planning your trip, and mistakes can be time-consuming and expensive. We can help!

We love Japan! Our team of local experts know all the best spots, sightseeing tips and tricks, best ways to get around and what to do and not do during your stay. Of course, we specialize in all-things-food related, and we hope you have already booked a food tour, but in the process of creating our 30+ tours in 5 cities  we have amassed a huge amount of information about traveling around the country and we have ALL the best connections, so why not put us to good use in planning the rest of your journey?

Organizing your travels should be fun, we can make it stress free and take care of your worries! Your travel assistant package will include:

  • 20+ hours of research to answer your most important questions
  • A phone call to discuss your trip and your questions with our expert team
  • After-call report summary with all the important details
  • Bonus package of resources to help you during your trip
  • Discounts on added tour bookings and savings on follow up calls if you have additional questions

The Process is Simple…

  1. Book your 1 hour phone call (here.)
  2. Our expert team will send you a questionnaire so we can better prepare to give you the support you need.
  3. Fill out the questionnaire online and add in your 10 most important questions for your trip, and we will be in touch to schedule your call.
  4. Our team will need 3-5 business days to research and prepare for the call.
  5. Let’s get on the phone! We can call your phone number, Skype or  via a wide range of online conference call services.
  6. After the call: Within 2 business days you will receive an online summary/report, as well as a packet of useful resources for your time in Japan.

Travel Safety for Women in Japan

Petra Sufliarska

For all travelers and especially women, Japan is a safe country and consistently ranks as one of  the countries with the lowest crime rate, world wide. We hear from many of our guests that Japan felt like one of the safest countries they’ve traveled to. People often fall sleep on the train, children in elementary school age take the subway by themselves… It’s not difficult to see that local people value public safety and order.

The Secrets to Japanese Longevity: A Food Guide

Alexandra Ziminski

In Japan, it’s not rare to see a street attendant working past retirement, or a kind 80-year-old woman still running her family soba restaurant. It’s a widely known fact that this country has some of the oldest people in the world, falling only behind Hong Kong in life expectancy. Why is this? Could it be the fantastic healthcare system, the high regard that seniors receive, or the fact that many of them remain active, getting up at 6 AM for their daily exercises? Of course these are all contributing factors, but we are missing a pretty important one: food.

A Taste of Okinawa to Bring Home

Rae DeFrane

Okinawa, with its turquoise seas and white sand beaches, touches the heart of anyone who visits. Whether you’re strolling down Kokusai Dori or you’re dipping your feet in the seas of Ishigaki, you want to take a slice of the Okinawan lifestyle back to reality. While Kariyushi (Okinawan aloha shirts) and island made jewelry are lovely baubles, I have found that the best way to show those back home how wonderful a culture is, is to bring back a little taste of their local delicacies...

Memories of fleeting beauty and friendship. All the more important to think about wonderful past experiences and look forward to future chances when this difficult time is behind us.
