How old do you have to be to drink alcohol on tours?
In accordance with Japanese law you must be over 20 years old to purchase and consume alcohol. And if you would like to drink on our tours we recommend you bring an identification card just in case the staff requests proof of age.
Is it possible to change the tours (time and place)?
Yes, it is possible to change the time and place. Please tell us at least one week before your tour. If you have booked a PRIVATE TOUR, adjustments are more flexible but changes can only be made with sufficient advanced notice.
Are the tours conducted in English?
Yes, all of our administration and tour guides can speak English. Most are fully bilingual. We are adding other languages to our offerings as we grow and expand the business.
Can one person make a booking as a solo traveller?
Yes, you can make a booking for one guest, but please call or email us as we use a different system for single/ solo travel bookings.
What kind of credit cards do you accept?
We accept most major credit cards. You can also pay through PayPal. Please email us if you have any questions or difficulty.
Is there free Wi-Fi along the tour routes?
We are sorry but we do not have free Wi-Fi available for the tours.
Is there a vegetarian, optional menu on the tours?
Yes, we have vegetarian menu options available for all tours; please tell us in advance so we can make the proper arrangements.
Can a person with allergies join the tours?
Yes, people who have allergies may join the tours; however please keep in mind that we cannot make a 100% allergy free food guarantee since all the food is prepared in the same kitchen. Cross-contamination is possible.
Are Arigato Japan Food Tours LGBT friendly?
Yes, our tours are LGBT friendly. We love to provide our services to people of all backgrounds and believe that a diverse tour service is the best way to connect with people around the world. We are open to the LGBT community and happy to have tour guests of any gender, sexual identity, race, religion and nationality.
What happens if we are late for our tour?
Out of respect for our other guests, we must start the tour on time. There is a grace period of 5 minutes after the tour start time; however if you are not there by the end of the grace period you most probably will be left behind. As our tours are structured with stops at popular eateries, our schedule is created to arrive at times outside of their peak hours. Also, we have reservations for certain periods of time. We must meet our scheduled times to ensure the best tour for everyone.
Are your tours wheelchair accessible?
Several of our tours are wheelchair accessible. Please check the tour page for details or email us if you would like to make sure. There is a lot of walking on our tours so if you have concerns please let us know.
Do you accommodate private tours?
Yes, we are more than happy to share more intimate food experiences with our guests. We can can tailor the tours to your preferences as well. Please contact us to discuss in more detail.
