Travel Status For Japan and Touring with Arigato Japan
The Government of Japan is asking all citizens to take precautions including wearing masks, keeping a social distance of 1.5 m whenever possible, frequent hand washing, and sanitizer. Restaurants, museums, etc. are reopened with new systems in place. Most events, festivals, etc. are still canceled. We are currently open for business for Online tours and Virtual experiences as well as offering walking tours for locals and Domestic travel upon request.
Japan is still restricting arrival from 100+ countries worldwide but talks are underway to reduce restrictions for several countries in the APAC region. And there are changes pending for business travel and travel for visa holders. No news yet about travel for tourists.
We are seeing an autumn spike in cases but much less than in many locations worldwide. We will continue to monitor the situation closely.
We, of course, keep the health and safety of our guests, guides, and staff as a top priority and we provide updates as conditions change.
The current number of active cases in Japan is 13,774 from a total of 1,711,750 confirmed cases with a steady recovery rate of over 1,680,109 patients recovered. For perspective, the total current active cases are 0.0001% of the population. And the recovery rate is already about 98% of the total confirmed contracted cases.
