Tour Details:

This 3-hour Osaka Night Food Tour will take you on an unforgettable eating excursion through the less frequented parts of Minami (South) Osaka.  Starting on the the heavily populated Doutonburi area on a bridge overlooking the inner canal we will quickly head into the fray past the Glico man, a Filipino sprinter named Fortunato Catalon who won a race at the 5th Far Eastern Sport Championship Games in 1921. When he crossed the finish line, his face was beaming with a big smile which gave favorable and healthy impressions. Having seen his smile, Glico, a large Japanese food conglomerate, decided to adopt it for their image. which inspired the Japan nation for years to come. Similar to Shibuya (its counterpart in Tokyo) the lights and sounds of Dotounburi often lead you astray to commercialized restaurants with queues of tourists outside while we want to take our guests to places they would certainly miss without a locals guidance. Quickly darting from the crowd we will take a secret alley not long after we begin the tour toward the shrines wedged out of sight from the average passerby.

After making it through the hidden alley ways we will make our first stop at a traditionally untraditional Japanese spot.  Here we will sample , okonomiyaki, savoury pancake containing cabbage, eggs, meat in a very good batter cooked right in front of you and topped with fish flakes. This is one of the best street food of Osaka, definitely a must try!

After our first smorgasbord meal, we will take you down a narrow alley to show you some of the more unconventional restaurants and pubs.  One in particular that looks almost like a barbershop with its old leather clad, fixtured chairs up against the bar for the local Japanese to really unwind from their day.

Our guide will then lead you to a local sushi place. This local shop fits just enough seats for our tour and will be some of the most succulent sushi you will ever eat.  Our guests will enjoy different kinds of sushi and 1 drink.  With the sushi master being very open to conversation from his guests, he will gladly answer any questions you may have about his craft.

From there, we will walk past the owl cafe to its second floor where you will be overwhelmed at the number of unorthodox bars, one after another.  Every 5 feet there is a new door with a new adventure to be had. This area gives you the retro, artsy feel of very hip and very unique cluster of bars.

Our final stop will take you into the depths of a corner shop, with nothing really that eye-popping outside to let customers know what is actually down there.  In  This experience will never be forgotten given the master's dedication to his craft.
